Stones Throw rapper M.E.D.’s music video for Blaxican (produced by the one and only Beat Konducta). First, it’s a visually engaging reminder that his new, mostly Madlib-produced Classic is due out this coming Tuesday. But more importantly, the video is an ode to the rapper’s friend David Cameron Gonzalez, aka Mr. Lavish, who was murdered in March 2010 in an apparent gang-related attack. It’s a moving dedication to Gonzalez and to all the other lives lost as a result of racial violence, an issue that seems to be glossed over far too often.
